About Sirshree

Sirshree’s spiritual quest began as a child, leading him through various schools of thoughts, teachings and practices of meditation. In and through each of these, he was left dissatisfied, feeling that there was a missing link.

His thirst to spend more and more time in the search for Truth led him to relinquish his role of a college lecturer. He undertook a long period of contemplation on the mystery of life. Finally, his search ended with enlightenment during the period around August 15, 1997.

Sirshree realised that the lack of Understanding was the missing link in all paths leading to Truth. He says.”All paths that lead to Truth begin differently, but culminate at the same point – with Understanding. Everything is game of beliefs. Understanding is the whole thing. And this Understanding is complete in itself. Listening to this Understanding is enough.”

For instance, he says, according to one teaching, our true nature is Everythingness, while there is another teaching that refers to Nothingness as being our innate nature. Both are true, and yet the higher understanding that transcends both these teachings is that “We are Nothing with the potential of everything.”

In the same vein, he goes on to expand on many traditional assertions, such as the statement: The purpose of spiritual quest is self-realisation – to experience the Self / God. Sirshree says, “Self-realisation is just the beginning. A true master will not just give you a glimpse. HE will guide you to a state where you will permanently establish in the experience of the Self.” He refers to this state as Self-stabilisation. He goes further to say that Self-stabilisation is not the end, it is only then that the true purpose for which your body came to this Earth begins to be fulfilled. It is then that expression of true Self begins.

To distinguish this understanding, Sirshree has coined the term ‘Tej’ which literally means Bright, but which points to that which is beyond duality. For example, there is happiness, and there is unhappiness. Tej Happiness (Tej Anand) is bliss beyond happiness and unhappiness. Similarly, there is ignorance, and there is knowledge. Tej Knowledge (Tej Gyan) is the wisdom beyond both ignorance and knowledge. The name of the foundation, Tej Gyan, originates from ‘Knowlerience’ (a new word coined by Sirshree to point to that knowledge which can only be known through non-conceptual experience).

In order to impart this understanding with a mission of creating highly evolved society, Sirshree created a ‘System for Wisdom’ in 1998. In this system, answers are graded according to the seeker’s level, an innovative way that indeed puts an end to the confusion that seekers flay around in, until they comprehend the Truth.

Sirshree’s summation of the Truth is short and concise, consisting of five points:

□    Only God exists. Investigate and verify whether you exist or not.

□    Everything is just a game of beliefs. Understanding is the whole thing.

□    The purpose of life on earth is to train the mind to be unshakable, pure, obedient and loving.

□    There is a reason to be always happy (it is within you!). It is possible to be always happy.

□    Guru, God, Grace and you are one.

Sirshree has delivered more than one thousand discourses on Truth as well as on various aspects of practical living. His is an amazing ability of conveying the subtlest understanding through casual contemporary language. The highest aspects of Truth are woven into analogies and humour that provoke one to contemplate.

He has delivered discourses that clarify the core tenets of various religions. A notable assertion by Sirshree in this context is:”Mankind today does not need a new religion; what it needs is the thread of understanding that can bind all religions together.”

Books are one of the most far-reaching medium though which Sirshree’s message touches all over the world. Today, there are more than 120 books from Sirshree, providing guidance on a vast variety of subjects, be it the subject of complete health, character building, the principles of karma, life after death, true meditation, or enlightenment.
